Exploring the relationship between technology, multisensory embodied encounters, materiality, and the virtual sphere, physicaldigital-digitalphysical-physicaldigital-[…] unfolds at the intersection of on-screen realms and tangible reality, setting out to (re)shape immersive and interactive experiences. Rendering the messy binary between the digital and physical, blurring the boundary between the two, the exhibition incorporates audiovisual performances, installation pieces, and experimental media.

Displayed throughout the hallways, cells, and rooms of the Pieter Baan Centre, a former prison and forensic psychiatric institute, each artwork operates as an interface; a portal into futures not yet realised or realities otherwise obscured. Inspired by innovative ways of thinking about technological tools, the Centre provides a context in which artists, technologists, and audiences can come together to uncover new frontiers of artistic expression and redefine what it means to be human in the digital age.

As an extension of the 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭-𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭-𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭-[…] exhibition, Uncloud invites artists to host a series of performative interventions at the Former Pieter Baan Centre. Varying in form, from choreographed movements to interactive, sound-based encounters and experiments with medical technology, the performative installations night submerges the audience in transcendent showcases that unfold at the intersection of the digital and physical worlds.

To Be Continued
12–15 October
Former Pieter Baan Centre, Utrecht

Uncloud and Theater Kikker present To Be Continued an audiovisual theatrical installation by Nineties in collaboration with video artist Noralie, interactive design studio Moniker, and musician/producer Philipp Thimm. The show is performed in English.

The site-specific performance begins on the audience’s smartphones via the messenger app Telegram. After purchasing your ticket and receiving instructions on downloading the app, you’ll immediately meet the protagonist: a chatbot in need of your input. Interweaving innovative digital media and technology, To Be Continued unravels as a code-based, psychedelic encounter – a contemplative experience guided by an immersive soundscape and rendered images that delve into the link between our (non)linear sense of time in the information epoch.
